Eventum Orthopaedics
Agentic document management and knowledge base system helping international medical device sales teams access fast, accurate and trusted answers from approved technical and product content.
The challenge
Global sales teams, complex technical questions
Eventum Orthopaedics is a UK-headquartered medical device company with sales teams operating across the globe. During the sales process, detailed technical questions would often arise from prospects, distributors, surgeons and clinical stakeholders.
That delay could slow sales momentum and extend the sales cycle. Eventum needed a way to give its international sales teams fast access to accurate, trusted information about the company, its products, technical documentation and people.
The requirement was not simply faster access to information. It was faster access to accurate, grounded information in a high-trust medical device environment.
The approach
Accurate AI, grounded in approved content
The Eventum team provided the high-level requirements. From there, Proffyn designed and built Annabel — an agentic document management and knowledge base system that provides real-time answers from approved Eventum content.
This was not a generic chatbot. As a medical device company, Eventum required a system where accuracy, traceability and trust were paramount. The build focused heavily on the foundations beneath the user interface: document structure, RAG, hybrid search, ranking, chunking, source control and guardrails.
What we delivered
Agentic knowledge base + technical document support
A live AI-enabled knowledge platform designed to support sales enablement, technical document access and trusted knowledge retrieval.
- Agentic document management and knowledge base system
- Real-time question-and-answer capability
- Responses grounded in approved Eventum content
- Support for company, product, technical documentation and people-related queries
- RAG-based retrieval architecture with hybrid search, ranking and chunking
- Guardrails to reduce hallucinations and unsupported responses
- Website integration
- Rapid iterative delivery using Cursor, n8n, Supabase and OpenAI
Why it matters
Faster sales support without compromising trust
Annabel is now live and in its second month of use, with encouraging growth on the platform. For Eventum, the platform helps reduce friction during the sales process by giving international teams quicker access to accurate, trusted information when they need it.
For Proffyn, the project demonstrates the value of combining AI-assisted delivery with strong product fundamentals. In a high-trust environment like medical devices, speed only creates value when it is paired with the right constraints, workflows and guardrails.
Platform capabilities

Faster support for global field teams
Hybrid search, ranking and chunking
Designed to reduce unsupported claims
Key takeaways
Lessons from a high-trust AI build
AI can accelerate delivery, but it does not remove the need for discovery and disciplined execution.
In regulated or high-trust environments, accuracy, traceability and guardrails must be designed in from the start.
Rapid prototyping is most effective when paired with frequent client feedback and clear decision-making.
The visible chatbot interface is only part of the product; the real value sits beneath it.
