Over several decades, I have built up a wealth of experience working with some of the world's leading companies across Financial Services, Insurance, Technology, Compliance, Aerospace and Automotive. I am used to operating within the tight restrictions mandated by these highly regulated industries.
I know the reality of delivering projects in the real world: Limited resources, aggressive timeframes, demanding stakeholders, aging technology, ever-growing product backlogs. My strength lies in my ability to find a way to balance these competing needs to optimize business outcomes.
At Proffyn, my mission is to distill and share the unique blend of technical expertise and real-world experience I've gathered over the years. This approach allows me to offer practical, structured guidance that empowers both companies and individuals to unlock their full potential. By bridging the gap between theory and practice, I strive to provide actionable insights that drive meaningful improvements, helping teams thrive and leaders achieve their goals.
Background
I hold a bachelor's degree in Engineering from the University of Nottingham, and spent a happy decade after graduation working at some of the world's leading engineering firms such as Roll-Royce, Nissan and Boeing. From there I moved into software which is where I've stayed ever since. During my time I've fulfilled a wide range of roles from software engineer, implementation consultant, and finally into the realm of product. I've been lucky to work with, and gain experience from, a number of high-profile organizations: General Motors, Royal Bank of Canada, Apple Inc, HSBC, Lloyds Banking Group, ING, FWD Global & SwissRe.
I have a talent in being able to quickly grasp complex topics and then translate them into easily digestible forms for range of audiences. An experienced communicator, I am able to interact effectively at all levels, from CxO to Engineering. I am passionate about helping others to reach their potential and work hard with teams and individuals to help them succeed.
